A leading wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Tax & Financial Planning team. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing complex tax engagements, overseeing 2-3 staff members, and operating in a client facing capacity, providing strategic tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

The Tax Manager will prepare and review complex individual, trust, estate, and entity tax returns; lead and mentor tax staff; and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. This position partners closely with the firm’s financial advisors to integrate tax insights into holistic financial strategies.

This opportunity is geared to grow into a Director seat within 2 years! The executive team is open to professionals seeking relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth clients, including individuals, estates, trusts, and passthrough entities.
• Prepare and review complex income tax returns and ensure timely, accurate filings.
• Advise clients on proactive tax strategies and evolving tax laws.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of tax associates.
• Collaborate with wealth advisors to align tax and financial planning goals.
• Manage client communications, audits, and correspondence with tax authorities.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.
• CPA required; CFP® preferred.
• 10+ years of experience preparing complex returns for high-net-worth individuals and families (estate, trust, etc.)
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with passthrough-entity taxation preferred.
• Proficiency with Axcess Tax, Bloomberg Income Tax Planner, and Canopy; familiarity with MoneyGuideElite or Holistiplan a plus.
