Our client, a fast-growing wealth management firm serving high net-worth clients nationwide is looking for a Tax Manager who will lead tax-related engagements and processes, while building and maintaining long-term relationships with their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage federal and state income tax planning and consulting engagements for high-net-worth individuals.

  • Prepare and review individual, estate & trust, gift, and passthrough-entity tax returns ranging from simple to complex.

  • Oversee timely and accurate tax return preparation, including primary and secondary review processes.

  • Collect and analyze client information and ensure accurate entry into CRM and related platforms.

  • Communicate directly with clients to gather data, discuss results, and provide proactive tax-planning recommendations.

  • Support business development by participating in client/prospect meetings and strengthening long-term client relationships.

  • Coordinate tax strategies with the wealth advisory team to align tax planning with overall financial goals.

  • Assist the Director in communicating key tax developments to the team and clients.

  • Research and analyze complex or unusual tax issues and share findings with the team and clients.

  • Correspond with the IRS and other taxing authorities, including managing tax audits.

  • Stay current on tax law changes and help identify opportunities to enhance department processes.

  • Seasonal overtime required leading up to major tax deadlines.

Supervisory Duties

  • Supervise, mentor, and manage workloads of tax associates.

  • Review work prepared by associates and provide clear, constructive feedback.

  • Coordinate the delivery of multiple tax services and department projects.

  • Support team members in creating financial plans tailored to client needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • 5+ years of tax management experience in public accounting.

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
