Compensation
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience at our growing real estate client. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting functions across multiple properties and entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Record and reconcile daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Perform bank, credit card, and escrow account reconciliations
Support property-level accounting, including rent rolls, tenant billings, and CAM reconciliations
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses
Collaborate with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with internal controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of accounting experience (real estate experience preferred but not required)
Working knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)
Experience with accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills
Exposure to property management or real estate accounting
Understanding of lease structures and property-level financials
