We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience at our growing real estate client. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting functions across multiple properties and entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

• Perform bank, credit card, and escrow account reconciliations

• Support property-level accounting, including rent rolls, tenant billings, and CAM reconciliations

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses

• Collaborate with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting discrepancies

• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 1–2 years of accounting experience (real estate experience preferred but not required)

• Working knowledge of GAAP

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)

• Experience with accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to property management or real estate accounting

• Understanding of lease structures and property-level financials
