Senior Payroll Systems Analyst

Location: Long Beach, CA (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Type: Contract only | Immediate Need
Pay: $40–$60 per hour

A large, multi-state organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst to support its Long Beach operations. This is a critical, high-visibility role focused on payroll systems, data integrity, and compliance remediation. This is not a payroll processing role — you will work directly with legacy systems, data conversions, and upcoming HRIS implementations.

Role Overview:

The Senior Payroll Systems Analyst will stabilize payroll accuracy, reduce compliance exposure, and improve system data integrity across:

• Legacy timekeeping systems

• Custom data converters

• Payroll processing platforms

• Future HRIS (Workday) implementation

You will collaborate onsite with payroll and analyst teams to diagnose, reconcile, and resolve system-driven payroll discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit and validate payroll calculations (blended overtime, multi-city wage rules, travel time pay)

• Reconcile timekeeping data with payroll outputs

• Analyze system logic and data transformation issues

• Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective controls

• Document pay rule structures for future HRIS migration

• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Payroll leadership

• Support data cleanup ahead of enterprise HRIS implementation

Ideal Background

• Strong experience in California payroll compliance (multi-jurisdiction wage laws)

• Blended overtime calculations and payroll audit remediation (PAGA exposure a plus)

• Payroll systems integrations, data mapping, and transformation

• HRIS conversions or implementations (Workday experience preferred)

• Advanced Excel and payroll reporting skills
