Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local agricultural company in south Monterey County, near the King City area to fill a long-term Senior Accountant contracted-interim position, providing additional support to the accounting team. The job is slated to last several months with medical benefits available through Hoxton Circle along with a few other benefits. See duties below.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains integrity of the general ledger and capital expenditure
• Collaborate with peers on coding invoices, setting up new accounts, reconciling accounts, and month-end closing.
• Collaborate and reconcile bank accounts monthly, verifying deposits, withdraws and addressing inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, inventory, and other financial accounts, Support accounts receivable collections as needed.
• Collaborates with accounts payable to ensure payments are charged to the appropriate General Ledger accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Collaborate filing tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems, reporting, providing recommendations to enhance the accounting/finance ERP systems.
• Collaborate with other departments in the company to provide financial and accounting support to executives and department heads who establish goals and budgets for the organization.
• Collaborating with company departments leads in creating annual budgets and forecasts.
• Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs, analyzing and setting standard costs of manufactured goods, Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, Joint Ventures, Harvest to sale cost, among other costing models.
• Prepare and provide analysis of cost variances vs LY, YOY, trend analysis, Budget and forecast
• Establishing costs (Direct vs Indirect) of business processes such as Nursery, cultivation, harvest, manufacturing, facilities, administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Review and analyze current processes, provide findings to management, recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance or related science from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years experience in full-cycle accounting leading month-end close and intercompany transactions.
• 5+ years of cost accounting (indirect vs direct costs)
• 5+ years experience in Finance, building budgets and forecasts.
