Our client, a growing medical device company based in Woodbury, NY, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and taking ownership of key accounting functions.

The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the monthly close process while supporting day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, accounts payable, billing, and audit activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process and reconcile vendor invoices and vendor payments.
  • Support customer billing and invoice processing.
  • Review and process employee expense reports.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Perform additional accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the medical device, manufacturing, or healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP accounting systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
