Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Accountant to join our finance team. This role focuses on supporting financial management for multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate job costing, revenue tracking, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior accounting experience in construction or real estate, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project accounting tasks including job costing, billing, revenue recognition, and project expense tracking.
  • Prepare and review project-related financial reports for management, highlighting performance against budget and identifying variances.
  • Monitor subcontractor payments, change orders, and vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for individual projects.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounts.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial information and assist with project performance analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide support during audits, ensuring project documentation and financials are complete and accurate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience; construction or real estate experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar) preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with project and finance
