As Head of Tax, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s financial strategy, driving tax efficiency, and safeguarding the business across a complex, multi-entity structure. You will serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, the CFO, and executive leadership, providing guidance on multi-jurisdictional tax matters, regulatory compliance, and long-term planning that aligns with the owners’ strategic vision.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s tax strategy across the parent company and subsidiaries, including corporate income tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and other applicable areas.
- Oversee all tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, as applicable.
- Drive tax planning initiatives focused on cash tax optimization, effective tax rate management, and alignment with ownership’s long-term financial objectives.
- Manage transfer pricing policies, intercompany transactions, and tax allocations across a complex corporate structure.
- Advise ownership and executive leadership on complex tax matters, regulatory changes, and risk considerations impacting the organization.
- Establish and enhance tax policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalability, transparency, and risk mitigation.
- Lead tax audits, inquiries, and examinations, and oversee tax provisions, forecasts, and reporting.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operational leaders to integrate tax considerations into enterprise-wide decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including leadership experience within complex, multi-entity organizations.
- Deep expertise in corporate income tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and multi-state taxation; international exposure is a plus.
- Proven experience operating in privately held or owner-led environments, with an understanding of the nuances of ownership priorities and long-term planning.
- Strong background in tax compliance, reporting, and planning across large, multi-subsidiary structures.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence ownership and senior executives.
