An established, growing accounting and tax firm in Pasadena is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager to join its close-knit team. The firm serves a diverse client base across the entertainment, medical, engineering, and professional services industries, with approximately 65% of its business focused on corporate clients and the remainder on individual tax work.

The ideal candidate will manage a client portfolio, build strong relationships, deliver exceptional service, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and individual clients
- Oversee accounting, tax, and financial reporting engagements
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients
- Provide high-quality, responsive customer service
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and bring in new business
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment
- Help mentor and support less experienced accounting staff
- Meet billable-hour expectations and contribute to the firm’s growth objectives
Qualifications
- Approximately 8 years of experience in public accounting or a similar small-to-midsize accounting firm
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Active CPA license with signing authority, or currently pursuing CPA licensure
- Experience working with corporate clients; tax experience is highly valued
- Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills
- Business development mindset and willingness to contribute to new client growth
- Professional, personable, and confident working directly with clients
- Local to Pasadena or genuinely connected to the Pasadena community
- Big Four experience alone is not the ideal background for this role; experience in a small-to-midsize firm is preferred
