Cost Accountant
Compensation: $100-$110K/annual
Flex Hours (37.5 hours/weekly-Fridays early hours)

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CFO
The Cost Accountant Analyst position functions as a business support person to the manufacturing plant and financial management team. The position is responsible for plant level costs and controls, including but not limited to cost accounting, bill of materialaudits, inventory reconciliations, variances and cost analysis.
This position works closely with manufacturing operations to understand cost issues and how they impact financial results by finding, describing and communicating cost drivers and inconsistencies.
This position also works very closely with the CFO in calculating quotes and estimates for new business opportunities. The position ensures the accuracy and integrity of the systems, financial information and reporting and that GAAP accounting principles, corporate policies and procedures are adhered to. The position supports month-end close and special projects as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:.
1. product/plant cost analysis
2. Set general standards of labor, material and overhead.
3. Analyze actual labor, material and overhead costs
4. Ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate
5. Supports the Sales Department with cost simulations
6. Assist with financial performance analysis (e.g. customer profitability
analysis, product & process cost analysis).
7. Support preparation of cost standards and periodic forecasts.
8. Aide in the development of new labor and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.
9. Analyze the gathered information and present solutions to the management team based on information.
10. Work with the finance department in the monthly and annual closings.
11. Manages Inventory records, cycle counts and monthly reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EDUCATION: BS/BA – Accounting / Finance with concentration in Cost Accounting.
2. 4 plus years’ progressive accounting/finance related experience within a
manufacturing environment
3. Cost accounting/analyst experience a plus, preferably at a manufacturing plant
4. Strong analytical and accounting skills specially explaining cost fluctuations
5. Detail Oriented and committed to accuracy
6. Advance to proficient experience with MS Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
7. Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred but not required)
8. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven
environment
9. Excellent verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills with all levels of the
organization
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
