Hoxton Circle is anticipating a Corporate Controller contract role in the next few weeks for a client of ours in the LA area. The ideal candidate must have strong analytic, strategic planning and communication skills, including an ability to work well with the chief executive office, board members and other senior managers. The job will be contract/temporary to cover the current Controller who will handle another internal project within the company 

Typical duties include:

• Providing strategic management of the accounting and finance functions
• Directing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Recommending improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information
• Managing or overseeing the relationship with independent auditors
• Collaborating with chief information officers on technology decisions
• Overseeing financial systems implementations and upgrades
• Managing relationships with investors and investment institutions
• Identifying and managing business risks and insurance requirements
• Hiring, training and retaining competent accounting and finance staff.

skill and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a similar field required MBA preferred.
• CFA and CMA also preferred
• 4-6 years experience in a Financial leadership role
• Experience with having 2-5 direct reports from the accounting team.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate and inspire team members
