Our client is a growing, technology-enabled health organization dedicated to delivering an exceptional, member-focused experience. The Associate Director, Tax will oversee key income tax functions, including GAAP and Statutory tax provisions, federal and state compliance, tax planning, and strategic initiatives. This role partners closely with senior leadership on departmental strategy and reports directly to the Senior Director of Tax.
Responsibilities
Lead the annual and quarterly GAAP and Statutory tax provision processes and manage relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Review federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates for multiple corporate entities, coordinating with outside advisors as needed.
Maintain accurate tax accounting and compliance results, collaborating with finance transformation teams and third-party vendors.
Oversee responses to tax audits and notices, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders and tax authorities.
Ensure adherence to indirect tax requirements.
Prepare financial analyses and data to support tax forecasting and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate across Finance and operational teams to resolve tax matters and support broader organizational goals.
Stay current on developments in insurance-related tax regulations and communicate potential impacts to leadership.
Support the development and execution of tax strategies and planning opportunities.
Champion process automation to improve compliance efficiency and strengthen analytical insights.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience (minimum of 4 years).
7+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
Strong command of tax regulations and compliance standards.
In-depth experience with ASC 740.
Minimum of 3 years leading or managing a team.
