About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Controller to join a growing home services company in Denver. This individual will serve as a key member of the finance and accounting leadership team, supporting the Controller and executive leadership in driving accurate, timely, and efficient financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a mix of public accounting and private industry experience, looking to play a hands-on role in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely General Ledger entries and reconciliations.

• Serve as the right-hand to the Controller, supporting accounting operations and strategic initiatives.

• Assist with preparation of financial statements, reporting packages, and analysis for executive leadership and PE stakeholders.

• Oversee and improve internal controls, processes, and accounting policies.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

• Mentor and collaborate with accounting staff to ensure high performance and adherence to accounting standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

• 4+ years of combined experience in public accounting (2+ years preferred) and private industry (2+ years preferred).

• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

• Hands-on experience managing GL month-end close and financial reporting.

• Experience in a PE-backed environment or fast-growing companies is a plus.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and drive process improvements.
