A Controller is needed on a direct hire basis for a well-known entertainment corporation located in New York. The Controller will have a strong technical accounting background, expertise in internal controls, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a complex business environment and be comfortable managing a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee financial accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Lead and manage a team, promoting a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
- Provide strong leadership, make confident decisions, and support the professional growth of team members.
- Maintain and enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with various business units to support financial decision-making and strategic goals.
- Manage the audit process, collaborating with both external auditors and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Drive the improvement of accounting systems and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- CPA is required.
- SOX experience is mandatory.
- Minimum five years of experience with at least one year at the Assistant Controller level.
- Prior experience in a corporate or large business environment, preferably in sectors like marketing, advertising, media, entertainment, or publishing.
- Previous public accounting background is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to manage teams and build effective working relationships across departments.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on internal controls and financial reporting.
- Experience in a complex business or organizational environment, with familiarity in managing regulatory and compliance requirements.
