The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Own the Accounts Payable process, including invoice matching, coding, vendor communication, and ensuring expenses are processed and paid accurately and on time
  • Support inventory-related accounting, including inventory reconciliations, landed cost reviews, recording inventory adjustments, and working with operations to resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end close activities, preparing and processing all relevant journal entries with complete supporting documentation
  • Reconcile all cash and bank accounts, including outstanding checks and aged items, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling differences
  • Ensure all assigned Balance Sheet accounts (including AP, inventory, accruals, prepaids) are reconciled monthly; investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly
  • Analyze assigned expense accounts, ensuring costs are recorded accurately and coordinating with AP and operations when accruals are required
  • Create and maintain Fixed Asset and Capital Project records in the ERP system
  • Create and maintain Prepaid Expense amortization schedules and source documentation
  • Interpret P&L statements and provide basic variance analysis against budget
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting operations and ensure smooth information flow with other departments (AP, operations, supply chain)
  • Support the external year-end financial audit by completing assigned schedules and requests accurately and on time
  • Handle ad hoc reporting, analysis, and projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2-4 years of corporate accounting experience, including strong accounts payable background
  • Inventory accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Excel
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Hungry to learn and grow, and ability to use initiative to move projects forward
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy

Salary: 75-90k
