Hoxton Circle has partnered with a well known client in South Monterey County to recruit a Senior Accountant to join an established organization. The role will be a contract/temporary to permanent hire and report to the Accounting Manager and CFO, the duties for the role are as follows. The role can have a hybrid schedule component to it depending on the applicant.

The duties are as follows: 

• Assists the Accounting Manager with the preparation of the month end financial close and ensuring standard and non-standard JE/accruals are prepared in a timely manner.
• Prepares and completes all assigned balance sheet accounts prior to month end close; if not possible, reconciles account(s) prior to the next month end close.
• Analyzes balance sheet accounts for accuracy and ensures proper application of (GAAP) are applied to all associated journal entries.
• Submits adjusted JE entry to resolve reconciling item.
• Ensures non-reconciled items are addressed and corrected within a 60-day time period from month of original entry and with approval of the Accounting Manager.
• Assures fixed asset sub ledger system reconciles to the month end balances of fixed asset accounts.
• Prepares all journal entries to accurately record the month end depreciation expense.
• Reconciles all fixed asset accounts and ensures CIP accounts are recorded timely and accurately.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent field of study
• 3 + years of experience in accounting operations
• Proficiency with preparing and posting Journal Entries to GL.
• Experience in healthcare accounting highly preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
