Senior Accountant

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely accounting, reporting, and analysis, while also providing oversight and mentorship to junior team members. The Senior Accountant plays a key role within the Finance team, supporting both the Corporate Office and select assets across the company network

Hands-on with day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities, collaborate closely with internal and network stakeholders, and contribute meaningful insights that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accounting transactions

  • Prepare and review monthly operating financial statements, including supporting working papers and account reconciliations

  • Review financial information provided to the Financial Reporting and FP&A teams for monthly financial and management reporting

  • Provide training, guidance, and first-line oversight to junior accounting staff

  • Work directly with external auditors and lead site audits with minimal supervision
  • Deliver financial analysis and solution-oriented contributions during weekly group meetings

  • Support the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls

  • Perform other duties commensurate with the role as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field

  • 5+ years of accounting experience internal accounting and analysis

  • Strong financial reporting experience under US GAAP

  • Public accounting experience is considered an asset

  • Active CPA designation or currently in progress

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Experience with MS Dynamics Navision preferred

  • Confident, energetic, and self-directed, with a willingness to ask questions and learn

  • Naturally curious and interested in understanding the operational drivers behind the numbers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong ability to develop efficient accounting processes and maintain effective financial controls

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and network stakeholders

  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
