Compensation

$130,000 - 165,000 base

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly close activities, including cash to accrual (GAAP) conversion and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, variance analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Handle complex accounting areas including Percentage-of-Completion (POC) and Inventory Accounting (both required).
  • Serve as a key finance partner to regional and senior leadership, providing insights into financial performance and identifying business risks and opportunities.
  • Lead, retain, and develop finance and accounting staff within the region.
  • Support and drive ERP system implementation (Sage Intacct) and integration with related platforms (e.g., BuildOps, CRM).
  • Assist with consolidated annual audits and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor sales, expense, and profitability trends; clearly communicate variances and recommend planning process improvements.
  • Assist with ASC 805 and M&A accounting (preferred but not required).
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and adapt to the evolving needs of a high-growth organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA (strongly preferred).
  • 5–6+ years of accounting experience, with hands-on experience in a privately held or PE-backed services business.
  • Strong experience in Percentage-of-Completion (POC) and Inventory Accounting is required.
  • Experience with cash-to-GAAP conversion, monthly close, and implementing accounting policies.
  • Familiarity with ASC 805 (M&A accounting) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct and other accounting/CRM systems is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Must be a clear and effective communicator, able to engage with individuals at all levels of the organization—not just executives.
  • Must be comfortable with change and ambiguity; this role will evolve over time as the business continues to grow rapidly.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Public accounting experience alone is not a fit; must have hands-on private accounting experience.
