A large corporation based in Salinas is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll processing for a unionized workforce. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll while maintaining compliance with union agreements, labor laws, and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a union environment
• Ensure accurate payroll calculations for one union contract, job classifications, and pay rules
• Manage payroll adjustments, retro pay, bonuses, and special payments in accordance with union agreement
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
• Coordinate union dues, benefit deductions, and garnishments
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with HR and Finance on employee changes, audits, and reporting
• Support payroll audits and provide documentation as needed
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and discretion

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including union payroll
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Workday, Paychex, or similar)
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
