Accounting Manager | Specialty Finance | West Los Angeles

A growing Los Angeles specialty finance company is looking for an Accounting Manager who wants real ownership, a seat at the table, and a defined route to Controller.

What you’ll do

• Lead a team of three: an on-site Staff Accountant plus two offshore team members
• Run daily accounting operations and own the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements with the CFO
• Manage periodic financial and bank audits and support the CFO on lender reporting
• Oversee the month-end close, including journal entries from the lending platform into QuickBooks
• Oversee the 1099 process
• Drive process improvements across accounting and the wider business
• Support financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in accounting, including at least 2 years in financial services and 2 years in a leadership role
• Experience managing people
• Private company experience with GL, operations accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills. QuickBooks is helpful, and SQL or Access is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (MBA a plus)
• CPA, or well on your way
• A positive attitude and a willingness to be in the office five days a week
