Our client, a rapidly growing fashion retailer with a strong eCommerce presence and a network of brick-and-mortar locations, is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that will serve as a true partner to ownership, helping to guide financial strategy while overseeing the daily operations of a growing accounting team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an accounting professional from the retail industry, preferably fashion/apparel, who is eager to step into a leadership seat with clear growth potential into a Controllership role in the coming years.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 4–5 accounting professionals, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all accounting functions.
  • Oversee the month-end close, general ledger management, financial reporting, and daily accounting operations.
  • Partner directly with ownership and cross-functional teams to provide insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead or support ERP initiatives, including system improvements, automation, and scalability projects.
  • Implement best practices in internal controls, reporting, and compliance in a rapidly evolving retail environment.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required).
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Background in the retail industry is required, with a strong preference for those coming from fashion or apparel.
  • Prior experience in eCommerce and physical retail environments is highly valued.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, etc.); experience with system implementations and automation is a plus.
  • A bright personality and strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage across departments and executive leadership.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and the desire to grow alongside a fast-moving business.
